Yaoi Con Day 2

Most of the day was spent meeting authors and going to panel. The panel on Yaoi in Ebooks hold by Nix Winter was very interesting, in the public there were also Cat Kane ([info]catkane ) and RD Solange. Most of my time I passed in the dealer room making some strange impression when I didn't recognize the author due to her pennames... Anyway, to the MLR Press booth I met Laura Baumbach, James Buchanan ([info]eroticjames ), Jet Mykles ([info]jetm ), Jade Buchanan ([info]jadebuchanan ) and her G.I. Joe Boys..., Ally Blue ([info]ally_blue ), J.L. Langley ([info]jl_langley ) and Kimberly Gardner: they are all a bunch of well-known and very good authors. The next booth was Blind Eye Books, with only four books but with two great authors, Ginn Hale and Astrid Amara: don't miss the work of these two young lady, it's amazing. Not far from them there was the booth of Dreamspinner Press, and here I met Rhianne Aile ([info]rhianne_aile ) and Clare London ([info]clarelondon ): they had a lot of books and free chocolates... so what not to like? Last but not least was the booth of Torquere Press, hold by Shawn Clements, Julia Talbot ([info]julia_talbot ), Kara Larson (alias K.L. Richardson, [info]karalarson ) and Pluto (alias Kit Zheng, [info]kitzheng ). With Pluto I made my probably bad impression since I confused one of her work with one of Rose Meloche, and I didn't know that she writes as Kit Zheng...

When I was back in my room I had a lot of more books and a lot of beautiful gadgets!

So that's what everyone looks like! ;)

I do believe the neko/cat "boy" there is cosplay Ritsuka paired up with Soubi from Loveless.

Regretfully I could not attend, but Derek and Blue should be at a couple of those tables in the form of postcards. If you see The Boys, would you be so kind as to snap a picture? I'll love you forever. :D

In the pic with Clare London and Rhianne Aile at the Dreamspinner table - the woman in the middle is author Alix Bekins. :) Sadly, I could not be there. I'm glad you got to see some of the Dreamspinner girls!

Yes, I spent a bit of time with them and I stole a chocolate! and also a bit of booksign. They were very friendly and they sold well. Elisa

You have good imagination. I couldn't believe that Ginn Hale was so young. Elisa

E-I couldn't believe that Ginn Hale was so young.

Nikki- Ginn Hale isn't THAT young. She's 40. The pigtails just made her look super-kawaii.

Wow! What can do two pigtails... I gave her no more than 25 years... Elisa

Oh, and just in case you're curious, the man in the photograph with Astrid Amara is San, who draws under the name "thepussinboots." San did illustrations for Astrid's Tangle XY stories, "Lord Ronan's Shoes" and "Remember." They're on our website. You should check them out if you haven't already seen them.

Nikki

PS-- I guess I should introduce myself-- I'm the editor of Blind Eye Books, so when I say it's on our website I mean it's on blindeyebooks.com

cheers!

Thanks for the info Nikki. I will check for sure your website, and soon also, since Ginn Hale is climbing my Top 50 Gay Romance list, and I want to post an "In the Spotlight" blog on her and her book. Elisa

I wanted that doll on the top soooooo badly. He was gorgeous. But over $600- I still yearn... But I don't buy stuff you have to dust.

I'm sure I don't remember you taking those pics of me *blush*...
I'm shy too (honest) and I bravely introduced myself to lots of new people this weekend, but it's really good to catch these photos and find some people whose names I never caught, or I didn't see at all.
It was such fun!

ack, i'm so shiny ;)

don't worry, it is not common knowledge that i do cover work as pluto. um, though i guess it is now! ahahahaha. i just didn't want my art to outshine my writing or vice versa.

it was really great to meet you. and i don't mind being mixed up for rose, she's incredibly talented. i'm just glad i got the chance to thank you for your review of checkpoint in person :)

Thank you very much! :) I'm glad people enjoy it. I think keeping it separate is for my own sanity more than anything else, otherwise I can easily start going "everyone likes my drawings but not my storiesss" or vice versa.

Thanks! I was so embarassed I made the same mistake last year with Rose :-) Probably since I love both your works, without doubt you are the best cover artists of Torquere. Elisa
