Torquere Press Calls for Submissions

JANUARY – NEW YEAR, NEW EXPERIENCES
New Year, New Experiences. We all love beginnings -- and we'd love to have your take on first times, especially (but not necessarily) coinciding with the turning of a new year. Fun, tender, clumsy, hot -- stories should be 3K-8K, and our lengths are firm. Standard royalty rates apply, and separate payments for collected themes may be negotiated. Deadline for stories is December 15, 2012. Please query if you have a story for later in January and you need wiggle room on the deadline. Send your submissions tosubmissions@torquerepress.com with New Year in the subject field. Please see our general submissions guidelines for formatting etc.

FEBRUARY - BOX OF CHOCOLATES
The ubiquitous box of Valentines chocolates is turned on its ear here. Whether you like your love full of spice like dark chocolate or more pure like white chocolate, these Valentine month stories should feature chocolate somewhere in the story. Lengths from 3000-8000 words (firm) will be considered. Our standard royalty rates apply, but collected themes may be negotiated at a different rate. Send your submissions tosubmissions@torquerepress.com with Chocolates in the subject field. Please see our general submissions guidelines for formatting etc.
Deadline, January 15.

MARCH – MASKS OFF TOO! (ANTHOLOGY)
Just like Masks Off! this anthology starts with a masquerade. That's where things diverge, though. Masks Off Too will focus on the same themes of mystery, seduction, reveal, only this time beneath that extra layer are vampires!

Stories for Masks Off Too! should be sexy, romantic male/male tales where at least one partner is a vampire, and may include light BDSM, though that is not a necessary element. Stories should be between 5000 and 12000 words long, and should be submitted in full with a synopsis and author biography.

Send submissions to submissions@torquerepress.com with Masks Off Too! in the subject line. Payment is a $50.00 flat fee for first time electronic and print rights for three years, and a print copy of the book. No reprints, please. Deadline for submissions is December 1, 2012 for March 2013 publication.

APRIL – TORQUED TALES
Once upon a time? The fox and the grapes, Snow White or the Little Match Girl as a man, the wolf in sheep's clothing... We all love to take a fairy tale or fable and flip it on its ear. Be creative and send us a Sip (3000 to 8000 words firm, please) on the twisted fairy tale theme. Lengths from 3000-8000 words (firm) will be considered. Our standard royalty rates apply, but collected themes may be negotiated at a different rate. Send your submissions to submissions@torquerepress.com with Torquere Tales in the subject field. Please see our general submissions guidelines for formatting etc.
Deadline, March 1.

MAY – MISTER, MAY I?
Why yes, yes you may.

Grins.

Let’s play with the idea of playing games and see where it takes us. Use your imagination – Tag, Hide and Seek, Ghosts in the Graveyard, Marbles, even Payday, Monopoly and First Person Shooters. Make it hot, make it fun, and make us fall in love. Lengths from 3000-8000 words (firm) will be considered. Our standard royalty rates apply, but collected themes may be negotiated at a different rate.

Send your submissions to submissions@torquerepress.com with Mister May I in the subject field. Please see our general submissions guidelines for formatting etc.

Deadline, April 1.

JUNE – FEVER (ANTHOLOGY)
Whether it's an eight second ride, a one night rodeo, or a championship show, June is the perfect time for rodeo season! We're looking for hot cowboys and cowgirls, old west, modern, American or not (Canada, Australia and Brazil have cowboy traditions, for instance), and we want all the Wrangler wearing glory we can get. We're looking for fully realized romantic stories with happy ending on a sports theme. Story length is 5000 words and up, but stories of extreme length will need to be extraordinary to obtain acceptance. Stories will be collected into a paperback volume, for which the payment is $35.00 plus one print copy of the book. Stories will be contracted individually on an ebook basis, and will receive separate royalties for single copy sales.

Send your submissions to submissions@torquerepress.com with Fever Anthology in the subject field. Please see our general submissions guidelines for formatting etc.

Deadline, May 1.

JULY – CHERRY BOMBS AND FIRECRACKERS
Throw a cherry bomb on our fire! Set off a rocket where it will do the most good! For July, we're looking for stories about fireworks, festivals, and good times. Blankets under the stars, furtive fumbling at the fair... we want them all! Lengths from 3000-8000 words (firm) will be considered. Our standard royalty rates apply, but collected themes may be negotiated at a different rate.

Send your submissions to submissions@torquerepress.com with Cherry Bombs in the subject field. Please see our general submissions guidelines for formatting etc.

Deadline, June 1.

AUGUST – SCORING (ANTHOLOGY)
Tight ends. Rugby calendars. Rodeo riders in leather chaps. Who says sports aren't sexy? Think of all those hard bodies, working for the win. Whether championship winners or local pick-up game heroes, the Scoring anthology is all about guys who play sports, and guys who score.

Send your submissions to submissions@torquerepress.com with Scoring Anthology in the subject field. Please see our general submissions guidelines for formatting etc.

TALES OF LEATHER
Like your short stories with a little bondage, dominance, spanking, or submission? So do we! In fact, we like BDSM play stories so much that we’re giving them their own category. Tales of Leather will be a part of our Sip short story line, but will be guaranteed to bring on all the hot BDSM action that readers crave with a new Sip line cover that will reflect the content. Please follow general guidelines for submission, stories should be sent to submission@torquerepress.com with Tales of Leather in your email subject line.

COLOR BOX
Color Boxes are currently open for submissions.

Just pick a color and run with it. Whether you go with what the color looks like, the feelings it evokes, or the emotions associated with it, let the color be your guide.

These sexy GLBT stories will be at least 10,000 words (but can be longer), and have a happy ever after (or at least happy for now) ending in any genre. We're looking to do all the colors of the rainbow from Alabaster to Zymenchlora.
