Gay for Pay (G-A-Y 4) by Kim Dare

Apparently only a kinky novella, I think that Gay for Pay hides a more deep side. As in some of the best Cinderfella reverse romance, Ben Smith, high paid security man for a multibillionaire business man is sent to the rescue of the lost lamb, meaning the son of said multibillionaire business man, Nate. The barely 20 years old boy ran away from home to end on an auction in a BDSM private club, but it was not a mistake: Nate wants to know for a night and a day what it means being gay and above all being someone else property. Nate has this idyllic idea of being a submissive, for him it implies being cherished and cuddled by another man: see, Nate has always known that his best feature is being rich, and more or less everyone who approaches him wants more his money than his body. Being auctioned as an anonymous body for him means that the one who will buy him will be interested in him as a person and not as a padded wallet.

Problem is that Ben knows well that it’s not a bed of roses, and so he half decides to rescue Nate and half to teach him a lessons: for a night Nate will be Ben’s submissive, and the morning after the boy will have enough clues to decide if being a submissive is really his vocation.

When I said that there are hidden layers in this story, I was referring to Nate’s relationship with his father: there is not hate between them, and neither shame, on the contrary Nate’s father loves him very much and wants for his son only the best; being gay is a path of trouble, and he doesn’t want it for his son. Nate loves and respects so much his father, that he really tried to suppress his needs, but then they surface all of sudden and pretend to be satisfied. As Nate loves and respects his father, I think that he is projecting the same need on the man he wants in his bed, someone older, someone to whom he has to obey, someone who can told him what to do, knowing that the other man has his best interest in mind. And if someone thinks that it’s not right, that Nate should find his own path in life, I tell that not everyone has an independent streak, and letting the lamb among the wolves can be dangerous.

Leo Delacroix regrets the day he discovered his psychic talents. Being called on to find missing loved ones and rid houses of angry spirits is messy, exhausting work. But he knows it would be wrong to turn away from his gifts when he's helping so many people.

Tommy Mulvaney knows something about regret, too. He regrets not being there to save his sister, Missy, the night she was pushed from a balcony by unseen hands. He regrets Missy's anger and frustration at being out of commission and unable to run the family paranormal investigation business. Mostly, he regrets that it's Missy in the wheelchair and not him.

When Leo and Tommy meet at Nil-Chance, a house with a dark and sordid history, they find the attraction between them to be undeniable. But before they can explore their feelings for each other, they must defeat whatever haunts Nil-Chance...

In this town, danger moves to a steamy Latin beat.

Crimes & Cocktails, Book 1

SFPD detective Gabriel Sandalini might as well have put a gun to his own head. One red-hot sexual encounter in a bar’s back room has put two years of deep undercover work in jeopardy—two years of danger and deception as he worked his way into crime boss Ricco Botelli’s inner circle. Gabriel can’t afford emotional entanglements. Hell, he can’t afford emotions. But that was before he had a name to pin on that anonymous one-off—Miguel Ortega.

Miguel Ortega doesn’t trust anyone, but tough, street-smart Gabriel brings out the conquistador in his Spanish blood. But distractions are nothing short of deadly right now, not with his boss’s impending marriage to Botelli’s sister, which will ensure peace—and massive drug profits—for both families.

On a trip to Mexico to set up drug supply lines, a violent confrontation proves they’ve got each other’s backs—to a degree.

Then one savage act changes everything, testing not only their fragile bond, but Gabriel’s will to live.

Man Candy Day: Brock Harris, Evan Wadle & Jay Santucci

All right, I confess, this week I needed good and healthy all american boys in a "classical" photshoot, the skimpy swimsuit... strange as it's, the magazine that offers us plenty of it is not American, but French. TETU magazine has always a right eyes for "healthy" guys, and this week I would like to feature you three of them, Brock Harris, Evan Wadle and Jay Santucci. We all are interested only at looking at the swimsuit, right? No interest at all for the boys in them... no, no ;-)

Brock Harris, born in 1988, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, is an American model.

Collapse )

Harris is a Jr. Music Theatre student at the Hartt School of music in Hartford Ct. (as of 2009). He's primarily pursuing a career in acting but he's working as a model on the side.

Back in 2008, Harris became an overnight success after he covered French gay magazine "Têtu" by photographer Randall Mesdon. He quickly got signed with an agency Renegade Models. Aside from Têtu, he's also appeared in wrestling ad campaign for "Asics".

Harris loves the outdoors, hunting, fishing, horse riding, boating, and swimming. Furthermore, he's into wrestling and boxing. He describes himself as a fun loving person: he loves to laugh and make the best of every situation.

---

Evan Wadle, born in 1988, in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, is an American model.

Collapse )

Wadle was first discovered back in early 2006 by Silver Management - a modeling site - who hired him on the spot. Since then, this young six-foot shaven haired hottie has managed to land numerous magazine photoshoots and has been photographed by renowned photographers Troy Phillips, Greg Vaughan, Jade Young and Akimitsu Sadoi.

One of his first assignments found him being photographed for the debut issue of new French glossy "M Menseul" and modeling his eight-pack in Genre magazine - a New York city-based monthly periodical written for gay men. There are also his hormonally-charged photos in Joe Oppedisano's "Testosterone" and his steamy black and white photos in Greg Vaughan's "BELLOmag". He is also on TETU magazine by Randall Mesdon.

Wadle's modeling career continued to rise in 2008, when he won the title of February Mate of the Month in "DNA" magazine and now being the face of B*boy Underwear's latest ad campaign by William Baker.

---

Jeremy Santucci aka Jay Santucci, born in 1981, in Maryland, is an American model, best known for his campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch and Armani Exchange.

Collapse )

Santucci spent his childhood on a horse farm, where he trained more than a dozen race horses with his father. He adores his family and friends, all of which support him in all of his endeavors.

Santucci began his modeling career in 2006 by signing on with David Todd at Nous Model Management using another name Jay Sanz. His very first modeling job was working with veteran photographer Bruce Weber for Abercrombie and Fitch billboard campaign.

His strong features and exceptional physique gained the admiration of many advertisers and photographer, and had nailed many magazine spreads for Cargo, Details, and DNR magazine editorials. It was at this time that he changed his name to "Jeremy Santucci."

Now, signed with renowned agency Major Management, Santucci is taking the world of modeling on his hands. He's bagged multiple campaigns for Loehmann's, Emporio Armani, 2ixst and much more. He is on TETU magazine, by Randall Mesdon.

When not modeling, Santucci is into sports, cars and carpetry. His favorite things to do are motor cross, snowboards, wake boarding and working out. He goes to the gym 4-6 times a week and works with Ador Orca Fitness Program Manager and Trainer at New York Sports club, doing both weight training and aerobics.

Murder Behind Closed Doors (A Murder Mystery 2) by Jere Myles

Well, Jere Myles, with the second book in his Murder Mysteries series, got me totally fooled. I was sure of only two things at the end of book 1, that I liked very much Mieko and Jon's characters and that I was sad to see them gone so soon. Actually nor Mieko or Jon were really gone, Mieko in particular, even if already dead at the beginning of the story, was one of the main character of the novel. His words and his love for Jon were the fuel for Jon and all the people who believed in him.

Murder Behind Closed Doors start were Murder at the Pier ended, with the Murder at the Pier of a lonely runner. It's strange, the title of both books refers to the last episode that happens in each of them, the murder of the first book at the Pier is the last scene of that book and we really don't know what happened if not in the second book, and the murder behind closed doors is a possible murder that will take place in book 2, and again, we will probably don't know the killer and the victim if not in book 3. It's like a chain, a ring at the end of the first book links the second, and so the second with the third. As it happened with book 1, I'm expecting to have some surprises in book 3, what I believe to have understood of Murder Behind Closed Doors it's not probably all right, I suppose.

Probably Murder Behind Closed Doors is more simple than Murder at the Pier. The characters are not new, and so we are already acquainted with them. The story flows also in a more "normal" pattern, there are fewer flashback than in the previous book, and in a way, book 2 serves to the reader to answer a lot of the unanswered questions from book 1. If you are thinking that I'm not enough clear, that I'm not giving enough clear statement, it's since I can't really give you the answer, otherwise I will give up entirely the meaning of Murder Behind Closed Door.

On comparison to book 1, Murder Behind Closed Doors ends with less open points: I think it's right, since book 3 will be the final book in the series, and so probably the author is preparing the readers for their last story. Other than answer to some question, book 2 changed also the perspective the reader had on some character from book 1: Rich and Tony, for example, I was sure they would have been main characters in Murder Behind Closed Doors, and it's like that, but I was totally wrong on their role in this story.

In the end, I think that, if the author's purpose was to entice enough the reader to continue to follow this series, he plenty reached it; I, for once, am not sure of what will be the wrapping up of the story, above all since, what I believed for book 2 was not right, and so now, I don't dare to suppose anything for the third and last mystery.

The Inside Reader: Proposal to my friends who are also authors

The idea is pretty simple, I was thinking to a serial post tentatively called "The Inside Reader", basically an author will list his/her top 10 list on LGBT Novels, without any limit, also classics are allowed.

Other than the list, it would be nice to have also a little introduction, something on the books he/she is listing, why they are special to him/her, or anything else you'd like to say.

Then I will complete the post with the author's bio and something about his/her last release (if available).

If you are interested please contact me, and we can plan something.

The Inside Reader: P.A. Brown

Show me the books he loves and I shall know the man far better than through mortal friends - Silas Weir Mitchell

P.A. Brown was so fast to reply to my invite that we already have our first inside reader. I thought to post it right away so people will understand better what I was thinking that P.A. Brown has done perfectly. From this moment on I will post once a week, if I have enought people willing to partecipate, so friends, enjoy P.A. Brown's Top 10 List and take inspiration!

1) The Lord Won't Mind by Gordon Merrick. This book opened up the world of gays to me and turned them from the boogeymen I heard whispered about in high school hallways to real people, just like me. In the 70s that was an eye-opener.

Paperback: 256 pages
Publisher: Alyson Books (July 1, 1995)
ISBN-10: 1555832903
ISBN-13: 978-1555832902
Amazon: The Lord Won't Mind (Peter & Charlie Trilogy) (Peter & Charlie series)

Prior to the publication of this beloved novel, nearly every gay novel and play seemed to end in suicide--or at least deep despair. Merrick was one of the first writers to insist that a gay relationship could in fact be a happy one. The Lord Won't Mind tells the story of Peter and Charlie, who begin a love affair at their Ivy League college in the '60s.

About P.A. Brown: Born in one of the coldest cities in Canada Pat escaped at 22, fleeing to Los Angeles. Her adventures there led to L.A. Heat (2006) which Mark Richard Zubro said "This is the best gay mystery I have read in years. It is a first-rate thriller with heart-stopping action." She's authored several mysteries, starting with the reissue of a revised L.A. Heat, followed by L.A. Mischief. She also authored Geography of Murder, Man's Best Friend, Memory of Darkness, Lynx Woods and Angel Light in the anthology To Die For. In Pat's novels romance and mystery meet and no one comes out unscathed. Soon to be released, L.A. Boneyard, the third book in the L.A. series finds David hot on the trail of a vicious human trafficker who uses murder to keep his girls in line. The fourth in the series, L.A. Bytes will be out in 2010. One of her recent releases is:

But when a West Hollywood twink ends up dead in a hotel room with Wager literally holding the bag, he knows his life is going to change for the worse. Pursued by the West Hollywood sheriffs for a murder he knows he didn't commit, Wager has to stay one step ahead of them and prove his innocence. It doesn't help matters any that his own son, Mark Wager, is a deputy sheriff who has joined the manhunt and has more reason than anyone to find the father who failed him all his life and bring him to justice. Add Hyacinth, a six-foot-five drag queen from New Orleans, Taz, her Puerto Rican boyfriend, an ex-Marine porno filmmaker and his incontinent Basset Hound Columbo, and the Armenian mob chasing them all through the streets of Los Angeles and the art walks and canals of Venice Beach. Can Wager stop the killers and reconcile with his son or will he end up being the next victim?
