Today author is Belinda McBride: Belinda is an award-winning, top selling author of erotic romance, speculative fiction and LGBTQ romance. She lives in far Northern California with her family and a pack of Siberian Huskies. A graduate of CSU Chico, she managed to attend the notorious party school without once getting drunk, arrested or appearing in a "Girls Gone Wild" video. Her main focus of study was classical and archival history, cultural anthropology and theatre arts. Her first job following graduation was as manager of a comic/manga store, where she was introduced to Wolverine, Shaw Brothers movies and Ranma 1/2. So much for a career as a history professor... After several years in the workforce. Belinda purchased a laptop computer and from there, knew that her childhood dream of being an author would come to life. Belinda's books are available at all the typical distributors as well as on the publisher's homepages. She is represented by Saritza Hernandez of the Corvisiero Literary Agency.

When dream hunter Dylan Ryve spots a beautiful shapeshifter raising hell in a bar, he knows he wants the wild young man. But Travis Feris is more to Dylan than a few hot minutes outside in the snow; he's the assassin's ticket into the magical town of Arcada. He didn't plan to rescue the kid, but when he found the shifter being attacked, the opportunity to play hero was too good to pass up.

Through the solitude of a long winter night, Dylan walks in Travis's fevered dreams, learning about Arcada and the pack, and showing the shifter the man he'd been so very long ago. When morning comes, both men know their lives will be forever entwined.

From Dylan, Travis learns that he is a strong, valued member of the pack. The dreamwalker sees his own worth reflected back at him in the dark blue eyes of the wolf. Yet when Dylan has the chance to free himself from centuries of enslavement, can he betray the man he has come to love?

Wide Awake by Kade Boehme

Interesting approach for an erotic romance novel: instead of starting it off with the firecrackers of a night of sex, when the novel opens it’s the morning after, Tyler and Mark in bed together with Tyler remembering how this was a dream comes true, him in bed with his best friend’s dad. Now Mark was a teenager dad, 15 years old, and Tyler is 4 years older than Mark’s son, so in the end there are little more than 10 years between them, but in any case it’s not easy for them, considering all the collateral ties they have.

In any case, there is no more sex between them, on the contrary they decide to take it slow and going back to dating and trying to understand if there is something true between them. I was almost used to think to this as a sweet romance, no sex allowed, when it suddenly turned into hot steamy sex and innuendos all around. It was unexpected but in a way the main reason why I liked this story: if they had continued with sex, sex, sex from page one, the reader would have been distracted from the plot. In this way, I could appreciate Mark’s struggle to finally grasp his life.

The novel is not perfect, it’s self-published and sometime there were some minor wrong typing (like and instead of an, or some double words before and after the verb), but considering this is little more than 1 dollar, and above all, considering I found Mark’s character to be good and original, and Tyler an adorable puppy who is ready to display his strength when needed, it was quite a good debut, good enough to make me want to read more by this author.

2013 Rainbow Awards Submission: Finn Marlowe - Not his kiss to take

Not His Kiss to Take by Finn Marlowe
Published: Dec. 15, 2012
Words: 78,053 (approximate)
Language: English
ISBN: 9781301016075

Dr. Evan Harrison has become a recluse, a prisoner inside his own house, felled in his prime by a migraine headache without end. All he'd ever wanted was to be a doctor, and now he's nothing - until chance delivers a beaten and battered Jamie into his care. Fourteen years his junior, gorgeous, mouthy, stubborn and...completely and unquestionably straight. Maybe. Or maybe not...

Jamie doesn't know what hit him, other than there were three of them, and that he's broken and in pain and he doesn't know the identity of the kind stranger with the cold stethoscope and warm eyes taking care of him. And he sure as hell doesn't know why he likes his bossiness or finds him sexy....

Chance may have brought them together, but a shared attraction keeps them together long after Jamie’s bruises have faded. As Evan enjoys the longest pain-free stretch he’s known in two years, they begin to explore their attraction, the caresses of a kind Jamie’s never known. But even as Evan revels in his young lover’s first, tentative touches, the guilt is never far from mind. Jamie’s never looked at another man romantically and Evan’s never looked at anything but. And Jamie won’t kiss him. That would be…gay.

Evan wants Jamie’s kiss more than he’s ever wanted anything before in his life, but it’s not his kiss to take, its Jamie’s to give. Evan knows wanting is Jamie is wrong, their relationship unethical, a relationship forbidden with just cause. He swore an oath to do no harm. And it’s not only his oaths that are going to get broken--he’s never given his heart away before…
