Magnus & Mats Carlsson

Lars Magnus Carlsson (born 24 June 1974 in Borås, Sweden) is a Swedish singer and former member of the bands Alcazar and Barbados. He is married to Mats Carlsson since 29 January 2006.

Magnus Carlsson grew up in Fristad, outside Borås. He attended comprehensive upper secondary school for 2 years with a focus on musical training, and four further years at the Faculty of Arts in Gothenburg University, where he studied to be a music and song/voice teacher.

Carlsson was first a singer in the Swedish dansband Barbados. Though near the end of 2002, he left Barbados and joined the pop-dance group Alcazar.

Carlsson participated in Melodifestivalen every year between 2000 and 2007 inclusive, except for 2004, either with Barbados, Alcazar or as a solo act.

At the end of 2002, Carlsson decided to leave Barbados, and on 13 December 2002, Carlsson became an official member of the pop group Alcazar. On 24 January 2003 he performed his last concert with Barbados.

In February 2006, he was a contestant in Melodifestivalen's semi-final in Karlstad with "Lev Livet!", composed by Anders Glenmark and Niklas Strömstedt, and qualified for the final in Globen.

In 2007 Magnus performed in the third heat of Melodifestivalen 2007 in Örnsköldsvik with "Live Forever", an eighties-inspired electropop dance song. The entry came in 5th place and was knocked out of the contest but still became the 6th most frequently played song on Swedish radio in 2007. The song was released as a single on 5 March 2007, and reached the status of gold certificate.

Welcome to the Dharma Café, a restaurant like no other. There is no menu. The waiter, Samura, uses mystical powers to read what each customer needs, and the cook, Agatha, prepares the food with ingredients like love, hope, and courage.

The café is a refuge for the new busboy, Charlie, who was kicked out of home on his eighteenth birthday. Irresistibly drawn to Samura, Charlie soon discovers that the stern, formal waiter harbors a heartbreaking past and a dangerous secret.

Samura lives in fear that one day, the darkness inside him will burst forth to destroy all he loves. Now that includes brash, infuriating, delectable Charlie, who has broken through all Samura's defenses and taught him to trust himself.

Just when Samura thinks it might be safe to reveal the truth, his worst nightmare walks back into his life: His father, Akio, the evil food sorcerer who runs the burger stand on the other side of town. Akio's business is expanding and he wants his son to manage his new location, where the Dharma Café now stands.

It will take the combined resources of an ancient cook, a novice dishwasher, and a cursed waiter to fight Akio and protect the café. But when Samura succumbs to Akio's magic, will it be enough?
