Though in my web http://www.ig-studio.com/ there´s a complete sample of my works, on my blog http://ivangarciablog.blogspot.com/ I am hanging curiosities and projects...
My training has been self-taught. Everything that has interested me since childhood: comics, film, television, books, music, etc ... is an influence in a way or another in my way of drawing and storytelling as a cartoonist.
I left am interesting career as admin and business management to enroll at the School of Arts and Crafts at Oviedo. There I studied illustration. I must say that most of what I learned has come to me out there, either by myself or working for commissions, in fact I began to practice as a professional illustrator before finishing school.
For nearly five years I worked in the studio L.Aulló in Oviedo, performing scientific medical illustrations for the Curso MIR Asturias, together with other illustrators. The volume of work in the studio was great and it allowed me to progress on a technical and artistic level. It was also a perfect anatomical drawing that has always interested me and allowed me to practice with the programs and techniques needed for the digital coloring ... which hardly happened in the school of "Art."
Given my experience in the field of medical illustration, I have also participated in various projects and publications such as medical illustrator outside the studio.
I taught drawing and comic art workshops for children in Oviedo and the basics of drawing and digital painting in vocational schools in the design industry.
Currently I'm working as a freelance illustrator."
