"I loved this book. Absolutely laugh-out-loud funny, with wonderfully drawn characters I really cared about from the start. My favorite book so far this year. The only missing elements here were more of the setting in the town and a bit more connection to the temple, given that one MC is a rabbi. It didn't feel very Jewish to me, and I think she missed out on adding just a few touches that would have made that feel more complete."

"This was an excellent book. Great, engaging writing style that kept my attention riveted throughout the novel. "
"I am a big fan of this author and loved this story. The characters are great; I loved how they met and the way Jeremy and Reg form such a close bond so early. I also love the way Reg is so protective of Jeremy, especially when it comes to those trying to take advantage. Great story to start with if you have not given this author a try yet."

"Absolutely loved this book. I read it all in one day. It turned the mate trope on it's head and came from a different viewpoint. Great world building with lots of detail re pack lore and traditions. A real emotional growth for the MC. Loved his father's wisdom as well. Very engaging story."

"This is a delightful novel full of sexual tension. It wasn't un-put-downable, but I did find myself thinking about it throughout the day and looking forward to reading it in the evening. The beginning was a bit slow, without a strong hook. Since the novel was solely in Lewis's POV, I didn't get to know Max as well as I would have liked. A little more information about the layout and style of the dorm suite would have helped me visualize it better, although there was sufficient detail to immerse me in the novel. Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and would buy more from this author."

"This book was a delight to read. Ms Martinez has an extraordinary ability to bring the reader into the story and become a part of it. These two men, although imperfect, are perfect together, even though Damien just wants to be left alone. He doesn't think he deserves to have a lover because of who/what he is. Then there is Blaze. A tough, 'I don't give a damn' sort of man who, after meeting Damien, all he wants is to protect the more fragile man. I enjoyed the way Ms Martinez built the world in the story, how the Variants were developed, the great pace the story carries and of course, the MC whom one can't help but fall in love with. The characters, although as they are in a dystopian/fantasy world, seem real to me."

"Very classic steam punk. Impossible words, Victorian phrase and tone, aether, and a proper gentlemanly protagonist. Beautiful. A fair amount of the beginning was explaining how the world worked. But it was done in an interesting way, so wasn't an issue. It was a very slow build to the conflict and well done. I liked that there were plenary of small problems for the characters, adding some realism. Also the same sex attraction between the two main characters was very secondary. It was a steam punk story with a gay romance, not a gay steam punk story. I enjoyed that was how the focus was written. Biggest disappointment is that this seems to be her only book."
