2016 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: How Not to Summon Your True Love (416-09-16-2016)

Would have loved to have learned a bit more about the characters through further conversation/interaction during the roadtrip beside just the basics about each other, but this was a unique little story with an interesting twist at the end, great/unique plot, and an overall fun read.

How Not to Summon Your True Love by Sasha L. Miller
Asexual Fantasy Romance
Paperback: 136 pages
Publisher: Less Than Three Press (March 16, 2016)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1620047284
ISBN-13: 978-1620047286
Amazon: How Not to Summon Your True Love
Amazon Kindle: How Not to Summon Your True Love

Though it doesn't really come as a surprise, Cy is still crushed when he's dumped. His relationship with Alex had lasted longer than all previous attempts, and started promising when Alex had proclaimed he was perfectly okay with Cy being asexual.

On impulse, convinced no one will ever really see him as worthy relationship material, Cy turns to a book that belonged to his late mother, a grimoire of magic spells that obviously won't work. It's a stupid idea, and even if magic was real there's no way a true love summoning spell would work for him...
