2017 Rainbow Awards Best Transgender Contemporary Romance, Erotic Romance & Romantic Comedy

And the Rainbow Award goes to...

Winners:

1) Scarred Mia Kerick
Transgender - Contemporary Romance
Paperback: 234 pages
Publisher: CoolDudes Publishing (March 1, 2017)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1544212356
ISBN-13: 978-1544212357
Amazon: Scarred Mia Kerick

1) This book is a fantastic story about two people who, even though both are scarred physically and emotionally, and carrying enough baggage to fill an airport luggage carrier, are able to find their HEA ending.
2) This one drew me in from the very first sentence. I loved the characters and was fully invested in their arcs within this story.
3) Scarred is not an easy read by any means. The author does not pull her punches with the details of the trauma the 2 MCs have experienced, nor with the emotional backlash following that trauma. The characters are very well drawn and the dynamic between them was great. The secondary characters fitted perfectly into the story, I especially liked the vibe of the Tikki bar and the people who worked there. The development of the MCs relationship was very believable – I really came to care about them.

2) Flaunt (F-Word #1) E. Davies
Transgender - Contemporary Romance
Series: F-Word
Paperback: 300 pages
Publisher: CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform (January 18, 2017)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1542589894
ISBN-13: 978-1542589895
Amazon: Flaunt (F-Word #1) E. Davies

1) E. Davies’ characters in Flaunt are “sticky,” and by this mean to say that their appearance, personalities, and quirks still stick in my mind months after I have read the book. I truly enjoyed walking step by step with the guys through a well-defined setting full of rich sensory detail, and staying with them as they fought to save the funding of an important HIV education resource for the whole community. “Flaunt,” the first book in the F-word series, sets a good foundation for the other two.

Runner Up:

3) Becoming Kerry by Lynn Kelling

Finalist:

4) Outside the Lines by Caitlin Ricci
