2017 Rainbow Awards Best Debut Lesbian Book

And the Rainbow Award goes to...

Winners:

1) Where The Light Glows Dena Blake
Lesbian - Contemporary Romance
Paperback: 240 pages
Publisher: Bold Strokes Books (May 16, 2017)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1626399581
ISBN-13: 978-1626399587
Amazon: Where The Light Glows Dena Blake

1) Good book. Maybe I could have enjoyed a bit more if there were not so many misanderstandings between the two protagonists, mostly due to the fact that they are two adult women. But otherwise solid book and interesting enough that I will keep an eye out for this author next book.

2) Ask, Tell E.J. Noyes
Lesbian - Contemporary Romance
Paperback: 240 pages
Publisher: Bella Books (January 24, 2017)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1594935300
ISBN-13: 978-1594935305
Amazon: Ask, Tell E.J. Noyes

1) Very well written story. Tells it like it was during DADT time period. As I was reading this felt like I was right there with the MC's. Gave a realistic look into the military service.
2) Great characters we can admire and a well-told story.
3) The author draws the reader in and grips them throughout the story. I wasn't able to put the book down until I finished it. Great read, totally enjoyed the story.

3-tie) Beast at the Door Althea Blue
Lesbian - Historical Romance
Paperback: 208 pages
Publisher: Supposed Crimes, LLC (October 1, 2016)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1944591281
ISBN-13: 978-1944591281
Amazon: Beast at the Door Althea Blue

1) A wonderful Steampunk Fairytale. Enough story arcs were tidied up to be satisfying, and a few left over to tease a possible sequel.

3-tie) Dolores Maggiore Death and Love at the Old Summer Camp
Lesbian - Young Adult
Paperback: 290 pages
Publisher: Sapphire Books Publishing (July 1, 2017)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1943353778
ISBN-13: 978-1943353774
Amazon: Dolores Maggiore Death and Love at the Old Summer Camp

1) Well written story focused on the young adult story line.  Nostalgic look back. A little bit of everything in this one, romance, mystery, paranormal. The settings were well written in this book. Felt like I was right there.
