A complex little story unfolds with surprising delicacy, and involves plenty of both depth and growth. The MC has suffered, but the violence and suffering are in the past. So many of the characters in his present are beautifully kind—and it works. I really, really enjoyed this on many levels, and will look forward to more from this author."
