Blurb: In the year 2039, the world is a better place, thanks to one man. Fresh from college, Malcolm Wilder engineered a cheap fix to fossil fuel dependence. The new energy-for-all economy brought on world peace, and as Earth and its people began to heal, creatures once thought to be the stuff of myth decided it was finally safe to reveal themselves. A decade later, Malcolm is a corporate giant living in exotic Dubai. He's on the cover of every magazine and his name on everyone's lips. Malcolm's business partner and lifelong friend, Levi Tanner, is concerned that Malcolm isn't allowing himself to enjoy his fame and fortune. Levi finally takes Malcolm to Mortal Sins, a local hot spot that caters to those looking for something a little different in the way of adult recreation. Little does Malcolm know, but the world still has a few problems of Biblical proportion and all hell is about to break loose.

In 1970, predictions for the turn of the millennium included flying cars, colonies on the moon and a manned mission to Mars, control of the weather to eliminate drought and famine, and the eradication of cancer and other diseases.

It didn't happen, none of it.

Instead, what we ended up with was a world held hostage by the Middle East and enslaved to fossil fuel, a worthless piece of thirty trillion dollar junk orbiting the earth called the International Space Station, global warming and a disappearing ozone layer, and a pesky little scourge called AIDS.

By the mid-2020s we had just about given up. Natural resources were being depleted at an alarming rate; there wasn't a quadrant of the planet that wasn't involved in a major, large-scale war over those resources or religion, and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus had mutated and become drug resistant, spreading like wildfire.

Things were looking pretty damn grim. Luckily, on a balmy spring night in May of 2009, a savior by the name of Malcolm Wilder had been born unto the world in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 2029, a few days shy of his twentieth birthday, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology student had a big-ass light bulb turn on over his head in the propulsion physics lab.

He figured out what had eluded the best and the brightest of the world for over thirty years: how to harness hydrogen power and, more specifically, how to create and distribute it cheaply. No more reliance on fossil fuels or foreign countries for energy, for any nation, anywhere. Hostilities ceased, and money that had previously been spent on armies and militias was diverted to agricultural, health care, and other benevolent scientific research.

And then, just when the world was settling in and on a fairly even keel for the first time in eons, something incredible happened that no one ever saw coming. We found out we weren't alone in the universe, but it had nothing to do with UFOs or little green men. While the human race had been busy trying to kill itself off and fuck up the planet, our fellow intelligent inhabitants had been hiding in the shadows, using wile and magic to keep themselves concealed. Once it became clear that we were no longer a significant threat to each other, they figured it was safe to come out and join the party.

Fictional stories of vampires and werewolves, of angels and demons, had been a part of our world culture for millennia. It wasn't until New Year's Day 2031 that we found out they were real.

In the short span of eighteen months, life on planet Earth went from pretty damn grim to pretty damn interesting.
